28/04/2016 – Globalisation and digitisation are permanently changing our lives – and that also applies to high quality German-brand tourism. New technological advances are augmenting holidays with new interactive options.

Digital marketing strategies

The Managing Director of TUI’s premium brand, Robinson Club, Dr Ingo Burmester, explained the German market leader’s global growth and digital marketing strategies for worldwide success. He said that virtual reality is key to providing customers with an improved service that better reflects their needs. It gives them a brand new experience by allowing them to take virtual tours of different hotels before making their booking. Technological advancements over the past few years make this possible in a quality that would never have been thought possible until recently.

Daily App

Another topic covered in the presentation was the Robinson Daily App. Over 90 percent of guests now have smartphones, and the app will soon be helping them to organise their entire holiday schedules. The Clubs already offer guests the chance to get the program for any particular day sent to them via the app so that they can plan their holiday activities. In the next step, the app will have additional functions such as spa treatment, restaurant table or sports activity bookings. When they get back home, guests will be able to use the app to provide feedback on their holiday.

Steffen Faradi, Managing Director of Pisano Holding GmbH, impressively demonstrated the quantum leaps that have occurred in recent years. Visitors to the politikLOUNGElive event had the opportunity to immerse themselves in various worlds with the virtual reality glasses. They explored the Robinson Club on the Maldives, looked out over New York from the roof of the Rockefeller Center and inspected the latest ships in the TUI Cruises fleet.
