The latest in a series of successful Policy Breakfast events, the TUI Group Corporate Office EU hosted a new session on the 11th of April. This Policy Breakfast covered the topic: “European elections 2019: A fragmented political landscape? A reflection on the latest Eurobarometer results and Millennials’ views”.
With the European elections fast approaching, the topic attracted a diverse audience with representatives from the European Institutions and different industries, as well as European think tanks. These different perspectives ensured a well-balanced discussion about the potential electoral outcome in May 2019 and its implications for policy, citizens and businesses. A specific focus point was the potential voting tendency of the “millennial” generation and their viewpoints of the EU, and how it approaches today’s core issues.
Mr Ralf Pastleitner, Director International Public Policy & EU Affairs, welcomed all participants to the Policy Breakfast, introduced the two key note speakers and moderated the ensuing discussion.
The first keynote speech was delivered by Mr Philipp Schulmeister, Head of Public Opinion Monitoring Unit at the European Parliament, who provided insights into the very latest Eurobarometer results. Ms Maria Freitas, Senior Policy Advisor at FEPS (Foundation for European Progressive Studies), shared her expertise in the field of youth and populism.
TUI Group Corporate Office EU will continue its Policy Breakfast series in the future to solidify TUI’s engagement and expert exchange with decision makers on EU-level.
